So, you’re going to a church, as you should, but they often sing songs you disagree with. What then? What should you do?
OpenSong is software for presentation of lyrics, printing of chord sheets, and presentation of Bible passages. It is opensource software, multi-platform, and is published here.
The text for these Bibles is published on the internet at ebible.org.
Because we use OpenSong at my local church, we have a large collection of songs that are formatted for OpenSong. Some of these we are free to share. We are free to share those in the Public Domain, those published under a Creative Commons licence (check you abide by the terms of the licence, but I believe you should for church work and worship), or those that are in copyright but the copyright holder is unknown. I must point out that I have checked the copyright status of these songs in the UK, not elsewhere. If you export them you may find they are still in copyright in your country.
I have grouped the songs by the book or other source through which we found them. Our primary hymn book in our church was Christian Hymns (1977 edition, revised in 1985) when I started this, so there are more songs from that source than from any other.
